There was a large attendance at the Annual General Meeting of the Shelmalier GAA Club which took place in the club house on Saturday last 8th December.

Chairman Seamus O Leary welcomed all in attendance and thanked all those who helped ensure that it was yet another very successful year for the club both on and off the field of play. Secretary Peggy Kelly who stepped down after 14 hard working years in the position presented an extensive report of the clubs activities during the year. Treasurer Deirdre Tobin presented the clubs financial statement which showed another very challenging year for the club on the financial front. Club officers elected: Chairman Seamus O Leary, Treasurer Deirdre Tobin, Assistant Treasurers Denis Kelly and Pat Whelan, Assistant Secretary Paul Tobin and Peggy Kelly, PRO Angela Griffith, Registrars James Horan and Murt Hanrahan, County Board Rep Ibar Murphy, Management committee: Michael Ryan, Larry O Shaughnessy, Myles Doyle, Aidan O Leary, Fr. Jim Fitzpatrick, Martin Doyle, Kenneth Jones, Austin Hearne, John Banville, Mick Kelly and Simon Donohoe.
