Shelmaliers senior hurlers, met St. Annes in Rathangan last Saturday evening in terrible weather conditions.
Shelmaliers missing 12 of their regular players lost out in this league game by three points, final score 1-12 to 2-6. However, the management team were more than happy with the performance of the players on the night. Captain, Aidan Murphy was in top form at full back and he was moved to full forward after receiving a dead leg and turned in another great show in this position. Vinny Parker was outstanding at mid-field, whilst John Redmond (foxy) gave an excellent account of himself at corner forward. Andre O’Brien continued his fine form and Conor Byrne was another to show strong on the night. Overall it was a great team performance and left all concerned happy enough despite the loss on the night
