Junior Hurlers take Co. Title

vpIt was a case of third time lucky for Shels, when the Junior Hurlers won the county final on Sunday 7th Dec, in St Patricks Park, where they beat a gallant Duffry Rovers side by five points.
Final score 1-13 to 1-8

Shels having reached the Co. Final for the last three years were overjoyed to eventually clinch the Co. title. Manager Liam O'Neill praised the work ethic of this comparatively young team.

There were strong performances all across the field, and amongst those to shine were Vinny & Fergie Parker and James Murphy in defence, Colm Tynan and Benny Barron were towers of strength at midfield, whilst Mick Kelly (C) and Willie O’Shaughnessy led the attack admirably. The subs when introduced had a big impact on the game.
