Juniors through to Semi Final

bbThe Shelmalier junior hurling team qualified for the county semi-finals today {Sunday} after a hard fought victory over a spirited Oylgate team on a scoreline of 3-10 to 1-11.

With very difficult ground conditions and playing into a slight wind the shels went in at half-time one point down 6pts to 7pts. In the second half the shels had by far the better of the exchanges and a fitter and more skilful side went on to run out winners 3-10 to 1-11. There was some excellent play throughout the game by the shels, none more so than a man-of-the-match performance by the young Benny Barron at mid-field. All the backs, lead through the centre by Aaron and Fergie, preformed extremely well under pressure especially in the second half. The forwards when they got going in the second half took their scores very well with very good team work and bravery.
