Seniors make Quarter Finals

amThe senior hurling team qualified for the quarter-finals of the hurling championship by beating a determined Marshalstown team on Saturday last in Bellfield.

After a first half of outstanding hurling the lead of 3-12 to 0-7 was truly merited. A second half saw a more determined Marshalstown side appear and pushed the Shels all the way, but a team fighting for themselves held out and due to the Martins defeating the Duffry by 6pts the Shels qualify for the quarter finals in two weeks time. Leaders were all over the pitch none more so than up the centre: Aidan Murphy, David Walsh, David Cloney, Alan Griffith and Stephen Banville, but overall it was a huge team effort from players and subs alike. Final score Shelmaliers 3-16  Marshalstown 2-14.
