St Ibars V Monageer
The second last round of the U12 league was played in Hollymount on Thursday last, 22nd May. Monageer were the opposition and they came to Hollymount on the back of a very good season to date. St Ibars started well and held out a strong attacking Monageer forward line. However Monageer opened the scoring with a goal and followed this up with other after a few minutes. This added to the St Ibars pressure but they tried hard. At half time the score was two goals to no score.
The second half was a closer affair and St Ibars put together some good moves. However it was Monageer who were to score again and they added two more goals to their tally. St Ibars didn’t give up and continued to play well. They eventually broke through the Monageer defence. Caoimhe Keneally worked the ball into the square and then sent the ball to the back of the Monageer net. St Ibars were unlucky in the last few minutes not to add to their tally.
The final score was Monageer 4-0 St Ibars 1-0.
