Shelmalier Ladies Football Club AGM 2008

Shelmalier Ladies Football Club held their Annual General meeting on Friday 1st February in the Community Centre Castlebridge. 
 There was a good turn out for the Clubs annual general meeting on Friday last, held in the communithy center in Castlebridge  
 
Brenda Fox was returned for a third  consecutive year as Chairperson, and Margaret O’Brien was returned as Treasurer.
 
Breda Curran has opted to retire from Secretary duties after an 11 year spell at the post. The Club and the officers would like to take this opportunity to thanks Breda for all her hard work and dedication to the club duties over the years. They are delighted that Breda would be taking a position as part of the management team. 
 
 
Andy O Brien had decided to step down as senior manager after his sucessfull reign in bringing the Noel Quill cup home for the first time since its inception in 2005. Pat Quill and Andy were nominted as joint managers for 2008 and to the delight of the meeting both accepted the Joint manager Role. Their first task is to appoint their background team for 2008. 
  
 Yvonne Flynn has been returned as assistant secretary for a second term and also as U12 manager. Mag Doherty returns to team management as she takes on resposibility for the Junior and Minor team. Andrew Furlong was appointed as U16 manager with Denis Corrigan returing to Club duties after quite an absence and he takes over the U14s.  Anne Maire Cullen remains as Manager of the U10 team. 
 
Mgt Doherty and Wayne Duggan were appointed as CLub Delegates to County Board. Aimee Foxand Ann McCleane were proposed as Subs should Mag or Wayne be unable to attend.
 
Eddie Kehoe and Andy O Brien were returned as Delegates to Shelmalier GAA club and also to HOllymount Development Committee.
 
The Management committee members elected were: Breda Curran,Mick Mahon. Eileen Moore, Joe Fox, liz Quill, new comers 
Antionette Kearney and Senior Player Fiona Cullen.
 
Catherine Kennedy and Leona Tector were returned as Childrens officer and PRO respectively.
 
Brenda welcomed on board all new people and also thanked the out going people for giving of their time to the club activities. 
 
New membership fees were proposed and adopted –  
 
                                                                        Underage             €30
                                                                        Adult                    €50
                                                                        Adult non playing   €30 
 
 
To have full benifit of the accident fund non playing adults would have to Pay €50.
 

The meeting was addressed by Chairman of Shelmalier GAA Club Noel Ryan, Larry Banville of the Hollymount Development committee and Kate Kelly on behalf of St. Ibars Camogie Club, They thanked the club for their continued cooperation, vision and input into Hollymount Development  and wished them the very best in the coming playing season.
