Shelmalier U14 Ladies reach County Final

Congratulations to the Shelmalier  Mahon Fox  U 14 team on reaching the County Final by beating St. Annes in the County Semi Final last night in Hollymount.
This team is no stranger to success having already captured the Division 3 All Ireland Feile Title earlier this year. They are the current U14 County Champions a title which they no doubt will want to retain -They  qualified for the under 14 County Final by defeating St.Annes 4-09 to 3-06 in the under 14 semi-final in Hollymount.

It was St. Anne’s team who went in the happier at half time leading by 2-4 to 1-5. The Shelmalier girls upped their game in the second half and within the first 15 minutes had gone ahead by 10 points.
St. Anne’s e determination brought them within 2 points of the reigning champions and indeed the result could have been very different were it not for two great saves from Shelmalier Goal Keeper Lil Roche. This was a great game of football from start to finish and team management were delighted and relieved when the final whistle was sounded. Shelmalier has qualified for their 2nd consecutive under 14 Final. We wish them every success in the final.
