St Ibars V St James
The U12s were out against St James on Tuesday 15th May. This was a hard fought game and St Ibars played very well as a team to win this game. The scoring was opened by Rachal Wall with a goal. Both teams were very evenly matched and both sides were unlucky not to add to the score sheet. Shauna Kelly added to the score board with another goal. The remainder of the game was played out with no scores until the last strike of the game when Niamh Doyle netted a goal from a well taken shot in mid field. Through out the game the St Ibars played well together. Goalie Ciara Lawless kept a clear sheet and was well aided by the full back line of Gemma Fox, Hazel O’Leary and Helen Murphy. The half back line of Katie Lacey, Geraldine Doolan and Maeve Doyle impressed throughout. At mid field, Niamh Doyle and Roisin Tobin were dominant. All the forwards, Rachal Wall, Aideen Fitzgerald, Dervla Potter, Katie Quaid, Shauna Kelly and Chloe Mahon, played very well and kept the St James defence under pressure throughout.

St Ibars V Glynn/Brantown
St Ibars/Shelmalier U12s took on Glynn Barntown in Hollymount in the league on 6th June. This was the third last game of the league. Glynn got off to the better start scoring 1-1 before the half time break. St Ibars started the second half off with more determination and had an excellent point from Niamh Doyle. From a free. Glynn however replied quickly with another goal and ran out eventual winners on a score line of 2-2 to 0-1.
St Ibars didn’t take the points from the game but gave an excellent second half performance. Roisin Tobin made some very good saves in the goal and was aided by the busy full back line of Sinead Moore, Dervla Potter, who was outstanding at full back, and Katie Lacey. The half back line of Gemma Fox, Niamh Doyle and Maeve Doyle all tired hard to keep the Glynn forwards at bay. Chloe Mahon and Geraldine Doolan had good games in mid-field and never gave up. The forwards all tried hard to break the Glynn defence. Ciara Lawless, Aideen Fitzgerald, Rachal Wall, Shannon Hore-Meagher, Katie Quaid and Helen Murphy all played well and showed some great skill.

St Ibars V St Martins
The second last game of the league saw St Ibars up against the competition’s favourites St Martins. This was always going to be a big ask for the local girls but they never gave in and with a young team they showed that they will be a strong force for next year’s competition. St Martin’s ran out comfortable winners of this one. All the St Ibars girls gave their best but the St Martin’s team was much stronger and would be fancied to go on and win the league.

St Ibars V Buffers Alley
The last game of the U2 league was in Hollymount on Wednesday 20th, when St Ibars took on Buffers Alley.
The visitors started the better of the two teams and scored 4-1. The second half saw a much improved St Ibars and they got on the scoring board with a well taken point from Dervla Potter. From the puck out Dervla won possession again and this time found the back of the Buffer’s Alley net. The final score was St Ibars 1-1, Buffer’s Alley 4-1. Despite not being on the winning side, all the St Ibar girls tried hard and fought to the final whistle. The U12 league is finished now the St Ibar girls, but with most of the panel eligible to play under 12 again next year, they should prove to be a fought force next year.
