The Shels Under 12s continued on their winning ways by comprehensively beating Fethard down at Fethard’s fine facility last Friday.
The final scoreline of 6-16 to 1-4 does not reflect the fine effort put in by Fethard, but a succession of late goals by Kevin O’Connor, a supreme long range shot from Luke Jackson and a final Eoghan Nolan goal set seal on a fine performance.
Shels led by 1-7 to 0-2 at half time thanks to an early goal from Kevin O’Connor and some fine goalkeeping from Evan Devereux kept the Shels' line intact.
There was some fine interplay among the Shels forward line, with Kevin O’Connor, John Forde and Stephen Maguire was involved in many an intricate move, helped and encouraged by the engine room at midfield comprising Graham Staples and Eoghan Nolan.
The Shels' forward line was well bolstered by the marauding wing back play from Aaron Murphy, and Conor Davidson, with Simon Donohoe in usual rock solid form at centre back.  James Cash led a teak tough full back line that gave little away with Conor Forde and Glen Malone forming a solid last line of defence.
Colin Cleary scored a neat second half goal and Stephen Maguire also raised a green flag.
Gavin Potter, Glen Malone, Aaron Ryan and Daniel Murphy put in a huge effort and were involved in setting up many a score.
