Glynn too strong for Shels
Shels U21 Hurlers were not strong enough to overcome an on form Glynn/ Barntown in the U21 hurling knockout game last Weds night. Final score 2-12 to 1-08. Report ….
The Shelmaliers took on local rivals Glynn/Barntown in the first round of the under 21 hurling championship in Killurin on Wednesday evening last with the home team winning by 2-12 to 1-8 after a challenging match. Conor Hearne got the Shelmaliers on the scoreboard with a point in the 2nd minute of play, but Barntown soon responded with a goal and six points before Conor Hearne converted two further points for the black and amber side. Barntown continued to dominate and they lead by 2-7 to 0-6 at half time. A goal from Liam Rockett in the 10th minute gave the Shelmaliers some hope of a recovery, however, Barntown continued to dominate and ran out winners by 2-12 to 1-8 to go through to the next round.
