U10 Football V St. Martins

Friday night saw the start of the under 10 football and our opponents were St. Martins .

The Shelmaliers had a total of 28 boys as had St. Martins .We had 3 games going on to give everybody game time. The weather in Hollymount didn’t help but some great football was on show from both sides. The Shelmalier boys had a great attitude with great defending, attacking and scoring. A big well done to all the mentors, parents and most of all the boys who are all the time developing and learning .the boys now turn their attention to hurling on Monday night at home v the Harriers and away to Gorey in football next Friday night. Shels Abu

U10 Football

Last night saw the Shels put in two great performances against the Starlights.

The Shels had 25 boys present and they all played a big part in both games. The older boys had a great comeback in the second half and should feel very happy with the way they played. The younger boys had a good win and will b happy also with a very good team performance….so fair play to all involved and keep up the good work lads.

U9’s versus Our Ladys Island.

The u9s had a good victory over their south of the county opposition by a scoreline of 5-6 to 4-3.

Eoin, Andrew, Cathal, Daniel, Jack, Ben, Ryan, Luke and Adam showed well for the Shels as well as Niall, Denis, Cian and Robbie who all chipped in with goals. Well done and keep up the good work.

Game played May 17th.

Kent Stainless Football

u10Well done to all the U-10 boys who took part in the Kent Stainless Steel Football Competition over the last few weeks

The boys were divided into evenly matched teams; team black and team amber and competed in 2 different groups.
Each team played 5 matches, with both teams winning 4 out of their 5 games. Both teams then got to show their skills in
Wexford Park when the finals were played on Tues evening last with team black playing against St. Martins and team amber
against St. Mary’s Maudlintown. The games were very entertaining with both of them closely fought until the final whistle.
Team black lost out by a couple of points but team amber went all the way to lift the cup.
All the players were presented with medals by Shay Keevans after the games.
Though the boys may have been divided into 2 teams for the competition they showed great camaraderie throughout and
all celebrated together on the night. The mentors were delighted and proud to see this show of comradeship and the boys were given crisps and drinks to celebrate. Well done again to all involved and to our supporters at the games.
