Big turnout for Hurling Forum

There was a big turnout in Hollymount Weds night from all sections of our club, for the hurling forum.

The meeting was chaired by Noel Feeney with Murty Flynn county coaching officer having a talk on the work and objectives that he and the county board are having. There was an open and positive discussion in relation to hurling and camogie and how best to improve the boys and girls that are playing. One of the messages coming across clearly was that we have great facilities at our disposal which have to be used to the best. There was great representation from all sections with Alan Aherne leading the camogie contingent. Amanda Bolger, the driving force behind Gaelic games in our schools was there. It was also nice to see three senior players Eoin Doyle, Benny Barron and Joe Kelly. It was talked about building greater links between the senior players and the kids and the lads on behalf of the seniors were positive in offering help going forward. There were also a lot of parents and mentors and some new faces which was nice to see. Murt Flynn said we have been approved for funding for our schools through Wexford 365. The plan is now to get the shoulder to the wheel…Shels / St. Ibars Abu….
