Shelmalier GAA is aware that there have been some confirmed cases of covid 19 among people who are members of the club. These members had attended for testing as soon as they became aware that they may be at risk. The club engaged immediately with the public health risk assessment team from the HSE. On foot of the engagement, the HSE confirmed that there was no evidence that there was any transmission associated with the conduct of any training session or other activity in Hollymount. All of the arrangements that are in place in the club are in full compliance with all GAA and HSE regulations and recommendations. As a precautionary measure training activities were suspended for a time. However, having been reassured by the HSE risk assessment team of our compliance with all regulations and guidelines – individual management teams will issue information to all teams about a return to training – with a determination to continue to adhere to all HSE and GAA regulations.
