The Shelmalier senior hurler took on near neighbours Glynn/Barntown in the fourth round of the championship on Saturday last in Wexford Park.
After an exciting match the Glynn men won on a score line of 1-9 to 0-18. The first half was an even affair with only two points 1-4 to 0-9 at half time with the Shelmaliers first point coming from Joe Kelly. The Shelmalier supporter were on their feet in the 8th minute when Stephen Banville collected the ball in midfield, moved forward and fired a bullet to the Glynn net. Two further points from Joe Kelly and one from Eoin Doyle saw the match finely paused at half time. Glynn came out very strong in the second half and put up the scores to win by a six point margin.
