Junior Hurling V Bannow/Ballymitty

Our junior hurlers continued their good run with a convincing 3-16 to 2-7 win over Bannow/Ballymitty in the 5th round of the junior league, in Hollymount on Sat last.

Four early points from Conor Hearne (2) and Darren Malone (2)  gave the early initiative to the home team, but Bannow fought back with a goal and two points to regain the upper hand. However, the Shelmaliers scored two further points before Conor Byrne fired to the roof of the Bannow net in the 20th minute. With five points separating the sides at half time 1-10 to 1-5 the Shelmalier continued their dominance with three further points from Conor Byrne extended the Shelmalier lead before Jody Donohoe got his side’s second goal in the 10th minute. It was all Shelmalier play in the last quarter and they ran out easy winners on a score line of 3-16 to 2-7. The senior hurler take on the Rapps Enniscorthy in Hollymount tonight (Tuesday) in the fifth round of the senior hurling league starting at 8pm, your support would be appreciated
