Great start by Senior Footballers

Both the Shelmalier senior and junior footballers had very encouraging opening matches in the first rounds of the Wexford championships on Sunday last.

It was the senior footballers who began the day when they took on Adamstown in Bree and were always in control resulting in a 4-13 to 0-3 victory. The juniors continue the good form when they overcame Clonard by 4-16 to 2-7 in Pairc Charman on Sunday evening. Corner forward Kevin O Connor opened the scoring for the senior footballers after 5 minutes and Eoghan Nolan rattled his team’s first goal 2 minutes later the set the Shelmaliers after good interplay from Brian Doyle and Glen Malone.
