Ladies Football U14 V Taghmon

Shelmaliers showed a great display of football for their first game of the season against a strong Taghmon side.

Half time score was 0-2 to 0-0 in favour of Taghmon. Taghmon began the second half in real attacking form and widened the lead quickly. Shels fought hard and some fabulous saves from Hannah Hearne in goal, and great defending from full back Abbie Devereux (captain), Aoife and Alison Doyle kept them in the game. Up front Ciara Banville and Ailis Neville fought hard for every ball and finally after working the ball up through Aine Fitzgerald in half back and the midfield pairing of Caitlin Carroll and Catriona Kinsella the scores started coming late in second half to see Shels girls narrow the 13 point gap to only 7 at the final whistle. Final score, U14 Div 1 Taghmon 2-9 Shels 2-2.
