There was a very large attendance at the Shelmalier Reunion which took place in Hotel Curracloe on Saturday 7th February.
It was an occasion to remember in the clubs history as it celebrated the great achievements of both the senior hurling team in winning the senior championship for the first time in 84 years and the night also celebrated the achievement of our under 21 footballers in retaining the championship for the second consecutive year. Chairman Seamus O Leary welcomed all in attendance to the reunion and he praised the players and mentors for their hard work and commitment to the club during the year. He also stated it was an honour to lead the club on such an historic year for the club and he hoped it wouldn’t take another 84 years before the Bob Bowe cup would return to the parish. Kilkenny’s Tom Mulally presented the senior hurling medals and county secretary Margaret Doyle presented the under 21 medals.
