Secure semi-final place after great victory over Oulart/The Ballagh last night

in the first play-off game, 4-4 to 0-2 after a great game played by all.  Lauren Murphy rattled the net opening the scores for our side after receiving a lovely handpass from Aoife Fielding, Ibar’s kept on top with a point from Mikaela Lanigan, followed with a point from Sarah Harding-Kenny.  Oulart pointed a free in the 12th minute.  Ibar’s following goal came from team work from our defenders Alison, Caitlin, Becky, Caitriona, Chloe & Aine, which followed to mid-fielder Molly Byrne on to Mikaela Lanigan where all the forwards ran in after the ball, Sarah Harding-Kenny batted the ball into the net.  Great team work has progressed in this young U14 team.  Oulart got a ’30 as ball went off our backs, which followed with another ’30 for them, this was well cleared by our defence team, leaving the half-time score 2-2 to 0-1.

Resuming the second half with some changes as Hannah Hearne went into goal, and Ciara Banville taking up position of corner forward, for Aoibhe Murphy.  Our next goal came from Lauren Murphy, after great passing coming from Caitlin to Ailis to Ciara. Then Ciara Banville rattled the net from a very tight angle, a point followed from Mikaela Lanigan, and another point from Lauren Murphy in the 20th minute, leaving a full time score 4-4 to 0-2.

Team Manager Mick Lanigan and mentors Mag Murphy & Emma Carroll were delighted with the girls overall performance.  They have progressed so well since their first meeting of Oulart/The Ballagh on St Patrick’s day.
