In an interesting and entertaining game where the initiative changed from side to side on many occasions Taghmon proved too strong for the Shelmaliers on a final score line of 0-18 to 1-11, in the Junior Hurling League game played in Taghmon on Friday night last. This spurred on the black and amber side and they regained the lead with points from Seamie Harding, James Cash, Alan Griffith and Ciaran Walsh after 25 minutes. However, Taghmon finished the first half with a flourish scoring three points between the 26th and 30th minutes to leave a half time score of Shelmaliers 0-7 Taghmon 0-9.
The third quarter belonged to Taghmon and they extended their lead to 6 points after 10 minutes of the second half, however. The Shelmaliers did briefly respond with points from Ciaran Walsh and Eoghan Nolan. As the game entered its final quarter Taghmon extended their lead to 8 points before newly introduced Shane Griffith fired in a low shot to the net, which game some hope to his side.
