Well done to our Under 10 team who enjoyed their blitz on Friday, April 25th in Hollymount
There was a change of date from the scheduled Saturday morning, due to other commitments from some of our players.
Five teams arrived at 6.30 pm in Hollymount: Kilmore, St Anne’s, St Martin’s maroon, St Martin’s white and ourselves. The throw in started sharp at 6.45 pm and our games were kept under the watchful eye of Katie Lacey and Shauna Kelly who refereed all the games.
It was a busy schedule and not much time for rest as a total of 10 games were played, finishing up just before dark at 9 pm.
St Ibars were on pitch 1 for all their four games, game 1 against St Anne’s – winning, game 2 against St Martin’s white – winning, game 3 against St Martin’s maroon – winning, and game 4 against Kilmore – lost out. The girls played very well in all their games, using the skills they are learning each week with their mentors.
A total of 17 girls lined out, namely: Saoirse Banville, Grace Harding-Kenny, Eimear Flanagan, Lucy Roche, Rebecca Fanning, Sophie & Rachel Denby, Niamh Hearne, Danielle & Clara O’Leary, Muireann Lanigan, Keeva Campbell, Amie Cooling, Emma Dunne, Anna Dempsey, Shona & Caoimhe Tobin. Well done girls, ye are all fantastic!!
A big thank you to their mentors Austin & Emma Hearne, Sheila Roche, Paddy Campbell and Stan O’Leary. A special word of thanks to our Referees Katie Lacey and Shauna Kelly.
Refreshments were enjoyed by all upstairs in the complex afterwards, a special thank you to all who brought the goodies, and a special thank you to Priscilla Flanagan, AnnMarie Dempsey, Dolores Tobin and Claire Dunne who served teas and cleanded up afterwards.
The girls are looking forward to their next blitz in St Anne’s on Saturday, May 10th at 11 am.
