Senior hurlers have emphatic win.

Our senior hurlers had an emphatic win over district rivals Glynn Barntown in Hollymount this afternoon. 1-18 to 0-03.

Shels playing with a good breeze hit 6 points without reply courtesy of Stephen Banville, Joe Kelly Eoghan Nolan and Eoin Doyle before Glynn registered their first score just at the end of the first quarter. Shels piled on the pressure and with further points from Kelly, Nolan and Banville together with a superb goal from Willie O’Shaughnessy after combining with Nolan to leave the half time score 1-12 to 0-1.

On the resumption Joe Kelly hit 3 more minors before Glynn pointed again just at the end of the quarter. Brian Doyle added 2 well taken points with Glynn getting their 3rd and final point of the game. Joe Kelly tagged on a point to leave final score 1-18 to 0-3.
