U16 Footballers win epic battle

Juvenile Footballers in County Final after epic battle against Fethard

Shelmaliers    5-12    Fethard    4-13
Our juvenile footballers won their semi final after extra time against Fethard under lights in Bree on Monday 19th August  2013.
Shelmaliers held the lead at half time by two points. Our lads were winning by 6 points with 10 minutes to go, but were rocked by two goals and a point from Fethard. Losing by a point in Injury time it looked as if our cause was lost but a super move down the wing resulted in a free which was converted. With the score at 4-10 to 4-10 the referee blew the final whistle.
Extra time was as exciting as the match. Shelmaliers getting the first point and then Fethard getting three unanswered points  again our lads left it to the last minute to get a point and the winning goal to set up a county final meeting with Cloughbawn.
