U12 v Rathnure

Hard luck to our U12 camogie team who lost out to Rathnure today in the mini league final 4-1 to 4-3

Aine Fitzgerald opened the scoring of the day with a well taken goal in the third minute, the Ibars second fantastic goal came from Ailis Neville after a lovely pass from Caitlin Carroll, Rathnure returned scoring their first goal in the tenth minute, Aoife Doyle came off after receiving an injury, with Lauren Murphy going on.  Ibars third great goal came from Ciara Banville, there was pressure on our backs and Hannah Hearne in goal had fantastic saves, clearing well, but Rathnure got pass scoring their second goal in the fiftenth minute, Ailis moved to centre field with Aine Fitzgerald moving centre forward.  Our fourth fab goal came from Ailis Neville, with Rathnure scoring a point before halftime, leaving the halftime score 4-0 to 2-1, with Ibars leading by 5 points.

Rathnure opened the second half with a goal, and followed their scoring with 2 points, a well taken point from Ailis Neville from a ’30 completed the Ibars scoring.  With pressure on the Ibars backs and fantastic saves again by Hannah Hearne in goal, Rathnure edged in a late goal before the final whistle, leaving the final score 4-1 to 4-3.  The positives out of a fantastic game were how well the girls fought and never gave up right till the end, which the mentors are very proud of them.
