U12 camogie V Glynn/Barntown

Hard luck to the U12 camogie girls loosing out to Glynn/Barntown this evening in Hollymount.

Glynn/Barntown opened the scoreline with a point from play, following with scores of 4-2 to 0-0 at halftime.  Ibars girls were trying hard to score, but it didn’t connect for them.  They held Glynn/Barntown forwards well from having more scores, great saves from Ailis Neville.  Just before halftime Becky Halligan went on for Fitzgerald, as she took time out to take a breather.

Ibars girls came out in the second half with much improved play, with Ailis Neville scoring 1-3, great saves from Sarah Whelan in goal, great defending from Alison Andrea and Aoife, our small fighty girls. Leaving a final scoreline of 5-7 to 1-3.

Team as follows:  Ailis Neville (1-3), Alison Doyle, Abbie Devereux, Aoife Doyle, Caitlin Carroll, Aine Fitzgerald, Caitriona Kinsella, Andrea Fielding, Aoibhe Murphy, Sarah Whelan, Catie Byrne.  Subs:  Ellie Doyle, Becky Halligan for Fitzgerald, Sinead Banville.  A big thank you to Sinead Banville U10 player who took part this evening.  A big thank you to Francis Neville for Refereeing the game.  Well done to Mentors Angie Kinsella Ursula Neville and Trish Fielding from their encouragment to the girls. It was great to see a big turn out of family members supporting the girls, and a visit from Club Chairman Alan Aherne!

There will be no training on Bank Holiday Monday, our next game on Wednesday 7 August in Hollymount at 6.30 pm against Crannford.
