Junior B Hurling

Gallant performance by Shels Junior B Hurlers:

Despite a great team performance by the Shelmalier Junior B hurlers in their last championship match of the year, the Faythe Harriers proved too strong and won easily in the end with the game played in Pairc Charman on Friday night last. James Shiggins scored the Shels first score after 3 minutes and two fine Michael Feeney frees doubled this teams tally after 15th minutes. Craig Potter scored a fine individual point in the 20th minute and the score of the night came when full forward Barry Murphy struck a great goal from a difficult angle in the 25th minute to leave his team trailing by 1-4 to 3-6 at half time. The Shelmaliers put on a fine second half performance with Graham Lawlor-Ryan, Eoin O Leary, Aaron Murphy, Craig Potter and Ciaran Murphy showing some fine skills in this quarter of the game. As the half progressed the Harriers came more into the game but it didn’t stop players such as Blaine Parnell, John Redmond, Michael Redmond, James Shiggins and Brian Kehoe making every effort the stop the Harriers attacks.
Team Kenny Hearne, John Redmond, Eoin O Leary, Brian Kehoe, Michael Redmond, Graham Lawlor-Ryan, Aaron Murphy, Craig Potter, Michael Feeney, Ciaran Murphy, James Shiggins, Blaine Parnell, Robert Kirwan, Barry Murphy and Larry Roche. Subs Stanley O Leary and Austin Hearne.
