Victory for U14 camogie

Congratulations to the U14 team and their mentors on a very good win in the Championship Quarter Final this evening, 6-10 to 0-0 over Castletown-Liam Mellows

On a fine summers evening in Castletown St Ibars displayed their camogie skills having a great win over Castletown, Sarah Harding-Kenny opened the scores 1 minute into the game with a fine goal, followed by a point by Zoe O’Leary, with a goal from Lauren Murphy within the 4th minute.  The pressure was kept on Castletown with a point following from Zoe O’Leary, a great goal from Thea Kehoe, then there was no stopping Jessie Harding, she rattled in 2 goals and 3 points within minutes.  Mikaela Langian added to the scoring with a point, and Castletown could not keep Jessie down, she scored another goal and point before the half time whistle, leaving a halftime score of 6-7 to 0-0.  Mentors Mick John and Mary changed around the team at half time giving all three subs a run.  Team for first half:  Caitlin Carroll, Molly Byrne, Sadbh McCarthy,Eleanor Lacey, Megan Scallan, Larah Campbell, Ellie Daly, Zoe O’Leary(0-5), Sarah Harding-Kenny (1-0), Siobhan Doolan, Jessie Harding (3-4), Fiona Kinsella, Lauren Murphy(1-0), Mikaela Lanigan(0-1), Thea Kehoe(1-0) Subs:  Aoife Fielding Julia Halpin Amy Murphy.  Team for second half:  Jessie Harding, Molly Byrne, Megan Scallan, Eleanor Lacey, Caitlin Carroll, Larah Campbell, Ellie Daly, Siobhan Doolan, Mikaela Lanigan, Aoife Fielding, Zoe O’Leary, Fiona Kinsella, Thea Kehoe, Julia Halpin, Amy Murphy.  Subs Lauren Murphy for Campbell, Sadbh McCarthy for Daly injury, Sarah Harding-Kenny.  Our second half scoring came from Zoe O’Leary with 0-3, bringing the final score to 6-10 to 0-0
