U16 Hurlers V Oulart – Report

Shels U16s hurlers had a great win this evening against Oulart/Ballagh 2 – 12 Shels 4 – 16.

Our U16 Hurlers made it 3 wins out of 3 in the Championship last Monday evening in Hollymount against Oulart. Oulart had the advantage of the wind in the first half and went into an early lead thanks to two points from play. A Nathan Murphy goal and a couple of Jody Donohoe points put the home team in front before three unanswered points from the boys in Red and Black left the teams level after 20 mins play. Conor Hearne knocked over two frees for the Shels boys but again Oulart came back and went in at half time one point up on a scoreline of 0.08 to 1.04. The home side started the second half very strongly with goals from Nathan Murphy and Jody Donohoe followed by points from Enda Cloake Liam Rockett and Conor Hearne. Oulart replied with a goal but the Shels boys were well on top at this stage. Dan Campbell then goaled for  the Over The Water boys and a string of points from Conor Hearne(5), Jody Donohoe(3), and Shane Neville left the home side winning on a scoreline of Shels 4.16 Oulart 2.12. In what was an excellent 2nd half display special mention must go to Jody Donohoe and Conor Hearne who both had excellent games ably assisted by Sean Reidy, Sean Keane and Cian Manley in the backs and Liam Rockett, Nathan Murphy and Shane Neville in the forwards. Next Championship game is Monday 1st July away to Forth and Bargy Gaels.
