Junior B Hurling V St. Annes

St. Anne’s overcome Junior B hurlers.

Shelmalier Junior B hurlers took on St. Anne’s in Hollymount on Tuesday last in the 5th round of the championship with the St. Anne’s men leaving the parish with a win after a hard fought contest with some excellent hurling from both teams. James Murphy was the first to register a score for the home team in the 6th minute and this was followed with a goal from full forward Stanley O Leary in the 10th minute. This really made a game of it with some excellent hurling from John Redmond, Eoin O Leary and Bobby Delaney in the full back line and James Murphy and Graham Lawlor-Ryan further up the field. Aaron Murphy rounded off the home teams scoring in the first half with a fine point from a narrow angle. The Shelmaliers came very strong in the third quarter of the game with Craig Potter, Blain Parnell, Patrick Murphy, Robert Kirwan and Kevin O Leary going very close for some vital scores in that period. Shelmalier scorers in that period were Kevin O Leary, Robert Kirwan, Aodhan Foley and James Murphy. The team now take on Faythe Harriers on Friday night in Pairc Charman at 7-30.
