Victory for U14 camogie

In the first round of the Championship against Duffry Rovers last night 3-8 to 0-1.  Next game after Feile on Monday 15th July away to Castletown at 7.30 pm.

Ibars girls got off to a great start with a point from play from Jessie in the second minute, Jessie followed with another point in the tenth minute, Zoe then scored a point from a free.  Duffry backs were doing there best to keep the Ibars at bay, but Ibars were too strong, the next score followed a ’30 taken by Zoe, caught by Jessie scoring a point.  Mikaela scored the next point from a ’30 taken by Zoe.  Zoe lobbed in the next point, the next score followed after a lovely pass from Eleanor to Jessie with a fantastic goal leaving the half-time score at 1-6 to 0-0.  Jessie opened the second half with a point, shortly after Mikaela scored a fantastic goal, some changes were made by the mentors, to give girls a game.  Siobhan followed with a lovely point from play, and Mikaela completed the scoring with a goal, leaving the final score 3-8 to 0-1.  It was a great start to the Championship, well done to all and the mentors, Mick, John and Mary.  Team as follows:  Ailis Neville, Anna Whelan, Sadbh McCarthy, Chloe Mythen, Jenny Murphy, Larah Campbell, Megan Scallan, Zoe O’Leary (0-1free, 0-1 play), Sarah Harding Kenny, Siobhan Doolan (0-1), Jessie Harding (1-4), Eleanor Lacey, Fiona Kinsella, Mikaela Lanigan (2-1), Aoife Fielding Subs:  Julia Halpin for Kinsella, Molly Byrne for Harding-Kenny, Caitlin Carroll for Doolan, Lauren Murphy for Fielding, Ellie Daly for Mythen, Caitlin Malone, and Thea Kehoe (injured).
