U16 Hurlers overcome near neighbours

Our U16 Hurlers made the short trip to Ballymurn on Monday evening last to take on Crossabeg/Ballymurn in the 2nd round of the Championship.

Nathan Murphy scored Shels first four scores of the match with two of them been goals. Further points from Jody Donohoe(3), Conor Hearne(2), Stephen Rossiter(2), Enda Cloake and Nathan Murphy left the Shels with a half time total of 2.11, with the home side putting 1.06 on the board. Crossabeg/Ballymurn came out strongly in the second half with 3 quick points. Two goals from Conor Hearne, followed by points from Liam Rockett,(2), Stephen Rossiter, Jody Donohoe and Conor Hearne put the Over the Water boys in complete control again and won the game on a scoreline of Shelmaliers 4.16 Crossabeg/Ballymurn 1.12. In what was an excellent team performance special mention must go to Aaron O Neill and Cian Manley in the backs, Conor Hearne and Enda Cloake who dominated midfield and to Nathan Murphy and Liam Rockett in the forwards.
