U14 advance to League final

Well done to our U14 camogie girls, who kept up their winning streak by beating Naomh Eanna, yesterday evening 3-6 to 0-3.

In doing so they have qualified to meet old rivals Crannford in the League Final on Saturday, 8th June at 1 pm in Farmleigh.  Ibars played with a strong breeze in the first half, and were quick on the attack, an early point from Zoe O’Leary followed by a brilliant goal by Siobhan Doolan.  Our two midfielders Zoe and Sarah in dominant form, Ibars scored four more points leaving halftime score at 1-5 to 0-0.  Despite playing against the wind in the second half Jessie Harding scored a point, Gorey quickly responded with 0-2, but after a great save by Ailis Neville in the goal, Ibars finished very strongly with further scores from Jessie, Zoe and a great goal from Lauren Murphy to leave the final score 3-6 to 0-3.  Team as follows:  Ailis Neville, Anna Whelan, Sadbh McCarthy, Chloe Mythen, Megan Scallan, Larah Campbell, Eleanor Lacey, Zoe O’Leary, Sarah Harding-Kenny, Fiona Kinsella, Jessie Harding, Siobhan Doolan, Aoife Fielding, Mikaela Lanigan and Julia Halpin.  Subs:  Thea Kehoe, Caitlin Carroll, Caitlin Malone, Lauren Murphy, Ellie Daly, Amy Murphy, Molly Byrne (injured), Jenny Murphy (injured).  Team mentors:  Mick, John and Mary.  Best wishes to Jenny Murphy for a speedy recovery from her thumb injury received in Fethard game.  Happy Birthday to Megan Scallan!
