Camogie Feile Final Victory

feileCongratulations to the U14 team who were victorious in a fantastic extra time game over St Martin’s in the Feile Final today 3 – 3 to 0-3. 

What a fantastic game St Martins opened by a point, minutes later Jessie Harding scored a goal, the Ibars girls held the lead at half time, with a domineering Martins in the second half Martins scored a point, followed by the equalising point, level pegging as the final whistle blew 1-1 to 0-3.  Ibars girls came out in the first half of extra time with two points taken by frees from Zoe O’Leary, the Ibars were strong in this half with a goal from Mikaela Lanigan, the Ibars led by 5 points at half time of extra time.  Both teams came out for the last 10 minutes and played their hearts out, Jessie Harding scored a point from play, followed by a goal from Lauren Murphy.  The final score 3-3 to 0-3.  Team as follows;  Ailis Neville, Sadbh McCarthy, Chloe Mythen, Caitlin Carroll, Larah Campbell, Eleanor Lacey, Jennifer Murphy, Sarah Harding-Kenny, Zoe O’Leary (0-2 frees), Fiona Kinsella, Jessie Harding (1-1), Siobhan Doolin, Thea Kehoe, Mikaela Lanigan (1-0), Aoife Fielding Subs:  Lauren Murphy (1-0) for Kehoe, Julia Halpin for Fielding, Megan Scallan, Anna Whelan for Carroll, Molly Byrne (injured).  Team mentors Mick Lanigan, John Harding and Mary O’Leary.  The girls will now head to Limerick for the National Feile 5th – 7th July.

The team enjoyed refreshments in Hotel Curracloe to celebrate their win.
