Shels were in command for most of the game with great points from Neal Rossiter, Conor Byrne and Derek Walsh with Walsh gaoling 5 minutes into the game. The backs were busy with goalie Paudie McMahon forced to make a save with Cathal Gaule and Andre O’Brien dominant on the full back line. Starlights hit 3 without reply with 10 mins to go but Neal Rossiter and Conor Byrne  immediately. Derek Walsh hit to the side of the net after a great pass from Aidan Murphy. Stephen Banville got the last score in the first half. 1-7 to 0-5 in favour of Shels. Starlights came out of the blocks the quickest on the resumption and quickly closed the gap with a brace of points and then when the ref awarded a penalty to the visitors on a technicality Starlights brought the game to the bare minimum between the sides. Tommy Barron after a great run pointed with Aidan Murphy adding another crucial score. Starlights took 2 back to close the gap to just one point again before Stephen Banville with a spectacular back kick pointed just before the full time whistle. Final score Shels 1-10 to 1-08.
