The bad weather proved no deterrent on Saturday last when the biggest attendance for many years gathered in Hollymount for the A.G.M.

Over 50 people were present to reflect on a memorable 2012 which saw five teams contest county finals, the history book being launched, and the club of the year award being secured for the first time. Tributes were paid to Mick Lanigan who stepped down after three years as Chairman, while Bessie Banville, one of the club’s two founder members, was added to the existing list of Presidents.

Officers elected were: Patron, Fr. Walter Forde; Presidents, Eileen O’Leary, Bessie Banville, Peggie Kelly, Seán Kelly, John Furlong, Theresa Kehoe; Chairman, Alan Aherne; Vice-Chairperson, Kate Kelly; Secretary, Sinéad Kelly; Assistant Secretaries, Ciara Donohoe and Niamh Potter; Treasurer, Mairéad Potter; Assistant Treasurer, Barry Hearne; P.R.O., Patricia Fielding; Registrars: Patricia Fielding (under-age) and Fionnuala Hearne (adult); County Board delegates, Therese Sheil and John Kelly; Committee: all team managers plus Aine Donohoe, Fidelma Dalton, Kathleen Lacey, Mag Kelly, Fiona Cullen, Gary Potter.

Managers appointed were: Under-8, Anne-Marie Whelan; Under-10, Emma and Austin Hearne; Under-12, to be finalised; Under-14, Mick Lanigan; Under-16, Kim Walsh; Under-18, Kate Kelly; Senior, Intermediate and Junior ‘C’, Alan Aherne.

Membership is as follows: player over 18 – €50; player aged 16 to 18 – €30; player under 16 – €20; non-player – €30; family (players under 16 plus one adult) – €50 (an extra €30 for an additional adult).

Circuit training started in Hollymount last night (Monday) and will continue this Thursday, January 31, from 8 to 9 p.m. The fee is €3 per night and this is open to all players eligible to play Under-16, Under-18 and adult, in both codes.
