U10 Hurling.

The annual U10 Over The Water Hurling League, which ran throughout August and September came to an end recently with a blitz in Hollymount.

Eleven clubs took part in the league. Glynn/Barntown, Oulart, Blackwater, Oylgate, Crossabeg/Ballymurn, Buffers Alley, Monageer/Boolavogue, Our Ladys Island, St. Martins, Volunteers and Shelmaliers.  A great standard of skill ans sportsmanship was shown by all throughout the games.
On the actual day of the blitz 7 teams took part with some clubs fielding two teams. Though the rain came down hard at times it didn’t dampen the spirits, and the boys still enjoyed their matches. After the games the players were presented with medals, drinks and crisps by oue Coiste Na Nog Chairman Noel Feeney. Refreshments were then served in the Complex for all Parents/Spectators etc and everyone was glad of a hot drink to warm them. A gate collection on the day in aid of The Windmill Therapeautic Training Unit raised €252.56 and thanks to all who donated. Thanks also to everyone who helped in any way throughout the league and on the day of the blitz, making it a great success.
