Player Profiles

Take a look at some of our Players profiles, for Saturday’s Senior Camogie County Final.  More to follow later today, as our countdown begins!

SANDY CARR (31): Optical Assistant. A tremendous servant of club and county, Sandy is one of three survivors from the starting team for the breakthrough final of 1997 along with Kate and Mag Kelly. Versatile and talented, she filled a new role of goalkeeper in the semi-final to perfection. Has played in seven Senior finals to date and captained the team to county and Leinster honours from midfield in 2001. An All-Ireland Under-16 medal winner in 1995, she has represented Wexford in all grades.
MAEVE QUILL (28): Clerical Officer. A tenacious defender, Maeve won a Senior championship medal as a substitute in 2001 and played at left corner-back in the finals of 2004 and 2010. Captured  her first county title in the Under-14 grade in 1995 and has claimed Rackard League, Primary Schools blitz and Under-16 league honours with the club too. Her younger sister, Lisa, is also a member of today’s panel.
LEONA TECTOR (35): Senior Project Manager. Experienced and dedicated, Leona didn’t play any camogie until the age of 23 but lined out at full-forward in a county final in her debut year (2000). Was used as a substitute in the successful deciders of 2001 and 2002, and has played in three different positions in the club’s three appearances on the big day since then – full-forward in 2003, midfield in 2004, and her current full-back role in 2010. A Wexford Junior in 2005.
CIARA DONOHOE (21): Student in W.I.T. A young player with a tremendous attitude and a great willingness to learn, Ciara was a substitute in 2010 and will be starting her first county Senior final today. Did an excellent marking job on Rathnure dangerwoman Lenny Holohan in the penultimate round and has won two Under-14 championships with the club. Her team-mates include her first cousin, Aine Lacey, while her brother, Simon, was on both Wexford Minor panels this yea
