Camogie Co Final

Check out Player profiles of Captain Fiona Cullen, Shelley Doyle, Bridget Curran and Kate Kelly.

SHELLY DOYLE (26): Clerical Officer. A versatile performer who can play in defence, midfield or attack, Shelly won a county medal as a substitute in 2001 and has lined out in three finals since – at corner-forward in 2003 and 2004, and at midfield two years ago. Came on for Wexford in the All-Ireland Senior ‘B’ semi-final in 2007 and returned to the inter-county scene this season when she was the regular left half-back on the Intermediate team.
BRIDGET CURRAN (28): Special Needs Assistant. A tremendous competitor, Bridget was the youngest member of the triumphant squad of 1997 at just 13 years of age and won three more county titles in 1998 (substitute), 2001 and 2002 when she was corner-forward. Has been involved in every final over the past 15 years as she was on the bench in 1999 and played in 2000, 2003, 2004 and 2010. Holds three All-Ireland medals with Wexford in Senior (2007 and 2010) and Intermediate (2011).
FIONA CULLEN (30): Administration and Sales Assistant. Fiona captains the team today and it’s a fitting honour for such an outstanding servant of the club. A substitute for the 1998 county success, she played in every final over the next five years at left half-back in 1999 and 2000, midfield in 2001 and 2002, and back to the number seven position in 2003. The right corner-back in the 2010 decider, she is a former Wexford Senior and her sister, Mary, is reserve goalkeeper today.
KATE KELLY (32): Business Development Manager. One of the greatest-ever players to don the club or indeed county jersey, she shares the record of most county Senior final appearances for a St. Ibar’s player with her sister, Mag. A key figure in all nine deciders over the past 15 years, she has scored a combined total of 4-42 in those games and enjoyed success in 1997, 1998, 2001 and 2002. Holds four All-Ireland Senior medals, one All-Ireland Under-16 and an incredible five All Star awards.
