Our junior hurlers drew with Gusserane yesterday evening in Taghmon. 1-11 to 0-14. Stephen Corrigan scoring the goal.
Shels junior hurlers got off to a slow start V Gusserane in Taghmon in the championship Saturday evening. Conor Tobin from wing back had an outstanding point in the first half but Gusserane were proving to be the stronger team. Shels went into the break 09 to -06 down. Shels moved up a gear in the second half and Shane Birney was on top form and scoring well. Tommy Barron was working hard and Ronan Kavanagh was also shining. Darren Malone was leading the defence and Stephen Corrigan did extremely well to find the back of the net 10 minutes from the end. The sides were level at 1-11 to 0-14 when Ibar Murphy was running through and just before he had the chance to shoot on the 21yd line, the referee blew the whistle. Shels supporters had to be content with the draw.
