Senior Footballers back on track

CmcShelmalier Senior Football team finally got their 2012 campaign up and running on Wednesday night last with a good 3 point win over Adamstown, 11pts to 8pts.

Having lost their two previous games this was a must win outing for our boys and with some of our previously injured players back available they got the win they so badly needed. Their really impressive first half display is where this win came from with the forwards showing good accuracy in front of goal. Leading by 6 at half time it looked like an easy win was on the cards but a spirited second half fight back from Adamstown left the outcome in the balance right to the end. However the Shels overall deserved their win and a quarter final berth is now back in sight. Best on the night were Craig Mc Cabe, Aidan Murphy, Marc Walsh, Derek Walsh and Dre O Brien.

Team: Graham Lawler-Ryan, Marc Walsh, Eoin Doyle, Andre O’Brien, Alan Griffith, Brian Malone, Aidan Cash, Stephen Banville (0-1), AJ Lehane, Ciaran O’Shaughnessy, Clive Lawler-Ryan, Colin Redmond (0-3F), Derek Walsh, Aidan Murphy (0-2), Craig McCabe (0-5). Subs introduced: Terry Gainfort, Brian Tobin and Darren Malone
