. The north Wexford side put three early points on the board before Liam Rockett knocked over Shels first score. Dan Campbell and a Conor Hearne free had the sides level after 15 mins. Corner forward Kyle Roche done brilliantly to evade his marker after 18 mins and made no mistake hitting the back of the net. Two more Gorey points left the mimimum between the teams before another Kyle Roche goal gave the Shels a bit of breathing space. The Shels finished the half strongly with points from Dan Campbell and Liam Rockett followed by a goal from a free from Liam Rockett, leaving our boys nine points up at half time leading 3.05 to 0.05. The Gorey boys came out strongly at the start of the second half hitting four quick points without reply. It was back to the walls stuff for a while with Sean Keane, Niall Hearne, Conor Hearne and Kevin Harte playing great stuff in the back line. An excellent Kyle Roche point settled the nerves before a goal from a free from Craig Parker put the game behond reach of the Gorey boys. A very good all round display against a very good Gorey team leaves the lads with maximum points from their two games so far in this years championship.
Our under 14 hurlers played their second game in this year’s championship at home to Naomh Eanna on Thursday night
