Seniors go down to Castletown

Our senior team missing 10 starters fought valiantly but lost out badly to an on form Castletown side in the league in Hollymount today. 3-12 to 0-3.

Shels were never in this game having had to field a predominantly junior team. To give the lads credit they tried until the bitter end but they were outclassed in most areas of the field. Castletown were first off the mark with a point and good work from Darren Malone equalised the sides in the 4th minute. However it was Castletown all the way then as they amassed a further 2-4 before Feargal Hynes converted a free. Castletown added another 1-2 with Feargal Hynes converting s second free on the cusp of half time. Half time score 3-7 to 0-3 in favour of the visitors. Shels were held scoreless in the 2nd half whilst Castletown having introduced several subs added 0-5 to their tally to leave final score at 3-12 to 0-3.
