The concentration so far on Physical preparation rather than skill work was evident with the home team having already played a number of practice games being much sharper. Playing with a strong breeze in the first half saw the Shels start brightly and with Derek Walsh and Clive Lawlor prominent they were two points up after 15 minutes. However the concession of two soft goals in quick succession saw the home side lead by 4pts at half time. Now facing the elements the Shels again started brightly but when the home side broke away to score their third goal the game was as good as over. From there to the end the Kilanerin men were on top despite Marc Walsh contributing a goal and a point to the Shels total. Lots of work ahead
