“Nilly” is a tigerish and tenacious defender.   Pace to burn, an extremely tight marker.   Great fielder of the ball, also a great man to block and hook.  Brave as a lion.

“Casher” is hugely popular amongst his colleagues.   Often too brave for his own good, surging runs from midfield are a feature of his game.   Equally adept on right or left.

EVAN DEVEREUX

Evan has been an outstanding performer at wing forward for the championship.   Boundless energy.   Makes it very difficult for the backs to clear

JODY DONOHOE

Jody younger brother of “Dooley”.   Another skilful hurler called up from the under 14 panel.   Will sadly miss the final due to a collar bone injury.

SIMON DONOHOE

“Dooley” is the rock of the defence.   A superb high fielder and magnificent striker of the ball.   Has scored some great scores from long range frees throughout the campaign

MICHAEL FEENEY

Michael is one of the most naturally gifted hurlers on the panel.   Very dangerous near the goal, scored a vital first half goal in the semi-final against Crossabeg.

AODHAN FOLEY

“Axle” is a fiercely dedicated club man, never misses a training session .   Equally adept in either defence or attack another natural “stickman”

CONOR FORDE

“Fordie” is a vital cog in the Shelmaliers team.  Versatile player, can also play in defence.    Scored an inspirational point in the critical stages of the semi-final against Crossabeg.

JOHN FORDE

John has played both in attack and defence throughout the campaign.   Scored an invaluable goal in the season defining draw with the illustrious Rapps.

AARON HEARNE

A fiercely dedicated player.   Aaron has come on in leaps and bounds in the last couple of seasons.   Never found wanting if called upon

CONOR HOWLIN

“Howler” is another key member of the squad.  Prefers to line out in attack another with a fondness for hurling.

Always available to enter the fray.

BRIAN KEHOE

Brian just like in the football favours a defensive role.   The talented handballer is a great reader of the game.

STEPHEN MAGUIRE

Stephen has solved the problematic Shelmalier goalkeeping position for the last couple of years.   A brilliant shot stopper and his puck outs invariably pick out a colleague.

GLEN MALONE

“Big G” is younger brother of Shels stalwarts “Jack” and Brian.   Commands the full back position like a Roman Emperor.   Thou shall not pass is emblazoned in his genes.

AARON MURPHY

Aaron is a teak tough defender and has copper fastened a wing back role on the team.  Not the biggest man on the team but he packs a big punch .

DANIEL MURPHY

Daniel another from the Castlebridge side of the Parish.   Pace to burn, can fill any role in attack and is an invaluable member of the hurling team.  Turned the Crossabeg semi-final with a vital second half goal

“Eoinie” is son of the legendary quinquagenarain John who is still lining out for the Shels.   The key man in attack, fills the pivotal centre forward position, filleted Crossabeg in the semi

Another call up from the under 14 ranks and one of the famous Shelmalier Neville clan.  A brilliantly skilful hurler, one for the future

KEVIN O CONNOR

Kevin is a stellar member of both the hurling and football team and also on the Irish soccer panel.   A clinical finisher has scored vital goals all the way to the final

Gavin is another of the Shels lads with an outstanding pedigree.   A superb corner back, has the confidence to get first to the ball

A prodigious talent, called up from the under 14 team, has played some vital cameo’s on the way to the final

Aaron is a brilliant stick man and has a rasping shot.   Set the team on its way with a vintage goal scoring performance in the game against Oulart.  Usually first to arrive and last to leave Hollymount

Graham is the engine room of the team.   Never plays a bad game, a brilliantly skilful hurler, takes the hard knocks and never shirks from a challenger

The personification of serenity on the side line.  Maintains his cool while all around him tempers are fraying.   Well respected a good judge of the game

DARREN MALONE

“Jack” has come on board this year as joint coach.  Has given a great fillip to the lads.   Demands that the lads put it in during the training session.  A talented all rounder himself

RICH DOYLE

First cousin of “Dooley” and Jody and nephew of “old” Simon.   Been associated with this bunch of players for a few years.   Brings Oulart acumen to the table.   Shares the coaching duties with Jack

Griff is a fiercely talented hurler and footballer in his own right.   Brings his youthful exuberance to the table, again listened to intently by the young lads.

GERRY FORDE

The link man with the media.  Former chairperson of Coiste na Nog.  Father of John and uncle of Conor Forde from the panel. Brings a wealth of experience to the team and indeed the club. Invaluable club man.
