Juniors draw with Gusserane to progress

Our junior hurling team drew 2-12 each with Gusserane last night to qualify second in the group for the qtr finals.

Shels playing with the wind in the first half had amassed an 8 point lead at the break. However Gusserane moved up a gear in the second half and came back at Shels strong. When Gusserane were awarded a penalty in the closing stages of the game, Shels were overjoyed when Colin Kehoe saved the shot off the line. 2 Goals from his brother Des Kehoe and points from John Redmond, Ibar Murphy (0-8, 4F), Chris Gordon, Colin Kehoe and Willie O’Shaughnessy all contributed to mean Shels qualify and will now probably face Ferns 2nd Team in approx 2 weeks. Overall strong team performance, with Darren Malone, Colin Kehoe and Ronan Kavanagh lead by example.
