With both teams under strength, they were both beaten – but still these games gave good preparation for the up-coming championships.
The seniors were away to St Annes on Monday at 8pm. The first half was well contested with Clive Lawler and Ibar Murphy doing well at mid-field and Aidan Murphy doing well in defence, the Shels were behind by 3 points at half time.
In the second half Craig McCabe and James Gordon quickly put the Shels in front and it looked as if the Shels were going to run out as winners. However, two badly contested kickouts allowed St Annes in for two easy goals which totally changed the course of the game. From here on St Annes pushed on for victory with a final score of 2-10 to 0-8.
