Rapps win final league game

Our second string failed to capitalise on a half time lead of 5 points in Bellfield this evening.

Rapps were first out of the blocks with 2 quick points (1F) before John Redmond converted a free for the Shels. Stephen Corrigan then went on the rampage amassing 1-1 in 3 minutes. Two Johnny Campbell free’s then yielded 1-1 before the onform Stephen Corrigan doing trojan work to leave a  great pass for Chris Gordon who made no mistake blasting the sliothar to the back of the net. Half time score 3-3 to 0-7. Playing against a moderate breeze in the second half Rapps scored 1-3 in first seven minutes before Des Kehoe & Chris Gordon, steadied the ship with a point each. John Redmond added a free but it was then Rapps all the way with 6 more unanswered points. We clawed back 2 points with Johnny Campbell and John Redmond (F) before Shels had a late chance when the dangerous Stephen Corrigan was put through for what looked like to be another goal. However referee Brendan Martin blew for a harsh over carrying call and moments later he blew the final whistle. Final score 3-8 to 1-16.
