2nd team great win over Vols firsts

Having lead from the start until the 27th minute, Shels conceded a late goal to put them under severe pressure in the dying minutes of this epic game. However the combined play of Chris Gordon and the excellent free taking of Colin Redmond ensured we came out winners by the smallest margin.

Shels having been beat by Volunteers in the championship, were more evenly matched on this occasion.

For most of the game the Shels led, but with about 5 mins to go the Vols got a goal to put them in the lead for the first time by 1 point.

The Shels gained 1 point back to draw level and with almost the last kick of the game and on the attack we got a free which Colm Redmond pointed to win the game. Final score 0-13 to 1-9.

On a day when the entire team played very well, amongst those to shine were Colm Tyan at centre back, Shane Griffith and Graham Lawlor in the full back line, Darren Malone centre field and Paddy Kelly, Colin Redmond and Chris Gordon up front.
