St.Ibars u12 & Rackard Lge update

St Ibars U12 camogie enjoyed a very competitive morning’s camogie held in Piercestown(St Martins) on Sat last May 7th and also played in the Rackard League on Tuesday evening against Kilmuckridge.


St.Ibars u12 travelled to Piercestown on Sat last to compete in the u12 blitz.  Their first game  was against Kilmore and the girls especially Megan were out for revenge after being beaten last time out, a goal in each ten minute half by Mikaela and Jamie left the final score 2-0 to 0-0.  Next up St. Martins B, the girls got off to a bad start and conceded two quick goals, however the girls fought back but unfortunately a great goal by Mikaela left the final score 2-0 to 1-0.
The girls next game was against Rosslare were the girls won well 4-1 to 0-0, Zoe O’Leary scored a great free along with a goal 1-1; other scorers included Mikaela 1-0, Abbie 1-0 and Amy Murphy1-0.  The last game played was against St Martins A and we left our best performance for last, despite losing to a last minute goal the girls showed that they match the best teams this year with great heart and skill, final score 3-0 to 2-0 with Abbie Gaynor getting both goals.  Well done girls and thanks to all the parents for your cheers on the sideline.  Team:  Mikaela Lanigan, Molly Byrne, Caitlin Malone, Aoife Fielding, Eleanor Lacey, Zoe O Leary, Megan Scanlon, Kara Doyle, Jamie Devereux, Abbie Gaynor, Chloe Mythen, Amy Murphy, Amy Gainfort.

Rackard League
Well done to the Rackard League girls on their win against Kilmuckridge in Hollymount on Tues last. Playing with the aid of a strong wind the girls dominated and led at half time 1-3 to 0-0.  They played even better against the wind and recorded a very creditable 2-5 to 0-0 win. Their next match is this Thurs 12th in Hollymount against Ferns.  The girls have beaten Crannford already therefore a win or draw will put them through to the next round.
